Update:
October 9-12, 2007
The construction crews will use the Columbus Day holiday, October 8, when the library is closed to finish some of the noisiest work. This will include the bolting of the shelving and the cutting and polishing of the limestone. There will continue to be some loud noise throughout this week. The workers do stop by 3:30 so the library is quieter after that time. Flooring, desks, glass and compact shelving continue to be installed as well as new security & fire devices. The automated sorting equipment arrives on Monday and will be installed during the next two weeks with testing the following two weeks.
