The final parts of the renovation continue to be worked on. The new opening day is now in January. The delay is due in part to shortage of needed supplies for the browsing and AV Center shelving and cabinetry. The automated sorting equipment continues to be tested and defective parts replaced. The move of books from the 3rd Floor fiction collection has started with 1st Floor staff performing inventory and repair before the books are shelved in their new home of the 1st Floor. Boxes of new material are being unpacked and shelved in the renovated area. Electrical and data work continues along with new lighting being placed on the new shelving. Final work is being done on the new doors, flooring, and fire/life/safety and security systems. Watch for the announcement of the new date for re-opening.
