San Francisco Elections and Voting

San Francisco Voter Information Pamphlets: full-text PDF files of San Francisco voter information pamphlets from 1907 to the present. (These online files are copies of the GIC's extensive though not complete print collection.)

San Francisco Ballot Propositions Database: Searches ballot propositions (1907 to the present) by keyword. Results provide pass/fail and other information.

Election Results: Print copies of San Francisco election results and Official Statement of Votes are also available at the GIC (there are some gaps in official results). The San Francisco Department of Elections has an online file of election results beginning with the 1960s. Newspaper articles in the Magazines and Newspapers Department of the Main Library can be searched to find election results for which official outcomes are otherwise not available.

California: The GIC has print copies of California voter information pamphlets; these are also searchable online via the California Ballot Propositions database from U.C. Hastings College of the Law.

Election Information: The San Francisco Department of Elections Web site is the best place to start for current election information, voter registration, and the election process for the City. Voter registration cards can be picked up at the GIC as well as Branch Libraries. The Usual Suspects Web site is excellent for S.F. political headlines and information.

Supervisorial Districts: Supervisorial district boundaries were revised in 2002 and a New Supervisorial District Map was created. The GIC has current and previous maps of Supervisorial Districts (for in-library use only).
