Notice of Meeting

A regular meeting of the San Francisco Public Library Commission will be held as follows:

Date: Tuesday, April 01, 2003 Time: 4:00 PM Place: Koret Auditorium, Main Library, lower level

The meeting will be called to order.

  1. ACTIONAPPROVAL OF THE MINUTES

    Presentation of, discussion of, and possible action to approve the Minutes of the regular Commission meeting of March 04, 2003.

  2. DISCUSSIONCITY LIBRARIAN’S REPORT
    by City Librarian Susan Hildreth

    (This item is to allow the City Librarian to report on recent Library activities and make announcements)

    The City Librarian will report on the following subjects: anti-war demonstrations on the Larkin Street steps, impacts of the proposed 2003/04 State Budget, State Legislative Day activities, SFPL participation in the "Imagine it, explore it, create it" Conference, SFPL participation in the Urban Libraries Council Executive Leadership Institute, the City’s proposed cell phone legislation, the publication of "Inscriptions", and exhibits and programs.


  3. DISCUSSIONMAIN LIBRARY POE 1st QUARTER 2003 UPDATE

    Presentation on and discussion of a 1st quarter 2003 report on Main Library Post Occupancy Evaluation projects and Phase I improvements.

  4. DISCUSSIONFUHRMAN FUND UPDATE

    Presentation on and discussion of a Library 02/03 Fuhrman Fund Report.

    Explanatory document: 2002/03 Fuhrman Fund Report.


  5. DISCUSSIONAFFINITY CENTERS UPDATE REPORT

    Presentation of and discussion of reports concerning the activities of the Book Arts & Special Collections and the Filipino Affinity Centers.


  6. DISCUSSIONFRIENDS AND FOUNDATION REPORT

    (This item is to allow the Friends and Foundation of the San Francisco Public Library to inform the Commission of their current and proposed activities.)


  7. LABOR UNION REPORT

    (This item is to allow members of library labor organizations to report on employee matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Library Commission’s consideration.)


  8. NEW BUSINESS

    (This item is to allow Commissioners to introduce new agenda items for consideration.)


  9. PUBLIC COMMENT

    (This item is to allow members of the public to comment generally on matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Library Commission’s consideration.)


  10. ACTIONADJOURNMENT

    (requires motion and public comment)
