Due to the ebb and flow of the Library’s needs, volunteer opportunities are ever-changing. Below is a list of ongoing opportunities. At the time you apply, you will receive a list of the current available opportunities at that time.
Youth Volunteer Opportunities
Youth Volunteer opportunities vary greatly by library location. Most youth opportunities are handled locally. It is strongly recommended that youth (and their parents) initially contact the location of interest first to see if opportunities are available.
- General Library Helper – General help around the Library and/or at special Library events.
- Homework Help Assistant – Works with school-aged children, generally during after school hours, answering homework and school-related topics.
- KidPower/ Summer Reading – Help sign kids up for the Summer Reading Program at the Library (This opportunity starts recruitment in mid-May and is usually filled to capacity by mid-June.) Please contact your branch library for more information, or the Main Library’s Children’s Center beginning in May.) Do not complete the Youth Volunteer Application for this opportunity; your local library will have further instructions.
