Join Jonathan Silverman of Feel the Earth in this two-day workshop for Teens.  Learn about Victory Gardens, how to start and care for a garden in our neighborhood and learn about an exciting volunteer opportunity that would allow you to work with the Mission Branch Library Garden through the summer and fall.  (Partaking in the workshop does not mean you have to commit long term.)

Mobile Movie Making

Mobile Movie Making!

In this workshop, teens will learn the craft of movie making and will make their own one minute movie using the skills they accquire. These skills include camera basics and composition, video pre-production and planning, video production, and editing. Teens will go home with their own self produced movie! All equipment provided.

Henna Tattoos for Teens

Free, safe, and temporary tattoos in the tradition of Africa and India. 
Choose your own design and learn how to apply it with henna. 
Henna artist Rachel-Anne Palacios will show you how, and will help apply a design on participants.

*Eco-Creatures! Green Saturdays@Bernal

In this workshop, students discuss animals, plants, and other organisms that live in various habitats. Considering the sensory experience of different environments, they will create imaginary 3D animals which will explore how species might adapt to climate changes. Materials such as discarded cds, fabric, buttons, and other recycled objects will be utilized to make futuristic creatures that could inhabit each student’s selected environmentIn this workshop, students discuss animals, plants, and other organisms that live in various habitats. Cara Goldstein is a writer, illustrator, and educator. BFA Syracuse University in painting and MFA in poetry from SF State. She was awarded the Yale University National Teacher Fellowship in 2010. Check out her class series at Sharon Art Studio. She also gives individual art lessons on how to build your art portfolio.

Have you ever wondered how to make your own clay animation? Students will learn the basics of stop-motion animation in this project-based workshop. Youth will design their own clay characters and then produce a short animated film using multimedia tools. Participants will have their animations emailed to them at the end of the workshop! Breaking and Hip Hop Dance with Destiny Arts

Breakdancing, a style of street dance that originated in New York City during the early 1970s, combines flexibility, acrobatics and a culture of positive challenge that encourages each dancer to develop their own style. As one of the original 5 elements of Hip Hop culture, breaking has had a big impact on popular dance in the U.S. and abroad. In this workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of breaking and hip hop dance and participate a culminating freestyle circle.
