In this hands-on workshop, Jonathan Silverman, Founder and Managing Director of Feel the Earth, will offer LEARN the ART of SEEDING for children and their families. You will learn how seeds work, best ways to plant seeds, how to care for your seedlings, and begin to cultivate fresh produce or blossoms. Research shows that gardening improves children’s learning, self-confidence, health & feeling of community spirit. For ages 2 and older.

Drawing a portrait is a great skill to have. You will learn the measurements of the face, how to shade, and create likeness. Bring a photograph of yourself, friends, family or celebrity. We will use pencil and charcoal. This protrait will tell a story. Materials included. For teens, age 12 and older. Limit to 15 participants. Instructor: Cara Goldstein. Learn the basics of  knitting, or bring along a project you need help with. Each knitter receives personal help in a nurturing and relaxing environment.  Beginners, rusty, and social knitters welcome!

Join Tammy from Destiny Art Center and learn a new skill! Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial-art that incorporates dance, agility, grace, music, instrumentation and play. Participants will learn the fundamentals of capoeira movements, philosophy, instruments and call and response songs. For ages 5-up, space limited to 30 participants arriving day of class.

Blue Jeans Bike Bag
GoGo Craft will show you how to take an old pair of jeans and transform them into a cool bag for your bike.  This bag is made entirely from items that you can find at any thrift store or in the back of your closet.  Biking not your thing?  Not a problem, turn your jeans into a shoulder bag.  Then learn how to decorate your bag with simple stamps that you can make yourself.  Bring your own pair of straight leg jeans and 2 belts, or use some of ours.  This workshop is for makers of any skill level. 
Ages 13 and up.

Mobile Movie Making!

In this workshop, teens will learn the craft of movie making and will make their own one minute movie using the skills they accquire. These skills include camera basics and composition, video pre-production and planning, video production, and editing. Teens will go home with their own self produced movie! All equipment provided.

Clay Animation Workshop with the Children's Creativity Museum
Have you ever wondered how to make your own clay animation? Students will learn the basics of stop-motion animation in this project-based workshop. Youth will design their own clay characters and then produce a short animated film using multimedia tools. Participants will have their animations emailed to them at the end of the workshop!
