
Mae Kramer Silver, author of The Sixth Star, Images and Memorabilia of California Women's Political History 1868-1915, will discuss her book and the stories of many of the fascinating women who fought the suffrage struggle in California.
Following a career in social work, Ms. Silver began writing about history, and is an expert in San Francisco neighborhood history. She has published numerous articles and won a history writing award at the San Francisco County Fair in 1984.
She is enjoying a semi-retirement in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where she continues to investigate local history.
The Sixth Star is out of print, but is available on the Internet Archive (http://www.archive.org/details/sixthstar00silv). Attendees are welcome to download and bring a copy to have signed.
