NOTICE OF MEETING

 

A regular meeting of the San Francisco Public Library Commission will be held as follows:

PLACE:          Koret Auditorium, Main Library, lower level

 

The meeting will be called to order.

 

1.      PUBLIC COMMENT

(This item is to allow members of the public to comment generally on matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Library Commission’s consideration.)

 

2.  APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES                                                ACTION

Presentation, discussion and possible action to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of February 1, 2007.

3.       BRANCH LIBRARY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM       ACTION

      (BLIP) REPORT

Review, discussion, and possible action to approve Library recommendations for the budget and schedule of the Branch Library Improvement Program (BLIP) which includes the possible rescheduling of up to five projects.

4.  RICHMOND/SENATOR MILTON MARKS                             ACTION

     BRANCH LIBRARY

Presentation and discussion of the renovation of the Richmond/Senator Milton Marks Branch Library, and possible action to redesign or increase the project budget.

 

 

5.  FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY REPORT                                    DISCUSSION

(This item is to allow the Friends of the San Francisco Public Library to inform the Commission of their current and proposed activities.)


 

6.      CITY LIBRARIAN’S REPORT by Luis Herrera                  DISCUSSION

                (This item is to allow the City Librarian to report on recent Library activities and make

                announcements)                   

The City Librarian will report on the following topics: the re-opening of West Portal Branch Library; information regarding Marjorie G. Stern’s bequest to the Library; highlights from Access Services; update on the launch of Link Plus service; and highlights on exhibitions and programs.

 

7.  EXTENDED LIBRARY SERVICE HOURS                                DISCUSSION

Presentation of proposed plan to extend library public service hours.

8.  LABOR UNION REPORT                                                           DISCUSSION

(This item is to allow representatives of library labor organizations to report on employee matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Library Commission’s consideration.)

 

 9.  NEW BUSINESS                                                              DISCUSSION

(This item is to allow Commissioners to introduce new agenda items for consideration.)
